Thesis 2012 & 2016

MPS: Arts & Cultural Management (2012)
Title: Revitalization of Memorial Hall at Pratt Institute

After a thorough examination of case studies and existing facility conditions and operations, I created a detailed strategic business plan and model that would ensure the longevity of the theatre as well as possible growth within the institute as well as the surrounding community.

MS: Facility Manage (2016)
Title: Inclusion in Facility Management: Bridging the Generational Gap
It is my hope to write an expository thesis on the implications of the generational gaps in the facility management industry. Discussion includes defining each generation, defining the digital divide and the relationship with the development of FM.
 Why This?
I ask questions such as, what is inclusion, why is it important, and how does it effect facility management and facility managers. Often times, due to the silo nature of facility management there is a lack of transparency or transferring of information. Communication has become stifled and information has become lost between new, current, and former practitioners. One of the most obvious places where the communication is lost is in technological convergence - this includes software, networking (social or professional), and daily communications. A good deal of my research takes into account the fact that by 2025 it is estimated that 75% of the work force will consist of millennials and the repercussions of that on the future of Facility Management.
Trying to break down some silos while promoting collaboration and transparency. It took me much longer than anticipated. I took roughly two years, taking a year off switching jobs and getting married.
