Love of theatre

Monday night I had the pleasure of going to see War Horse. It was mind-blowing on so many levels.

1- Lincoln Center started this new program called LincTix $30 for tickets to go see stuff in Lincoln Center Theatre. They are trying to appeal to the "middle demographic, which I fit and I am cheap so this is totally cool audience development in my mind.

2 - I have never experienced a show that broke the fourth wall like War Horse did, I was floored.

3 - I typically hate shows that use projection, most of the time, I find that it doesn't help the show. It can be really distracting; this show however it was so subtle almost unnoticeable, but it told you additional information that was going on within a scene.

4 - The puppetry will never be the same for me. That is all I will say about that, you must see it for yourself to understand it.

5 - Though I only paid $30 for my ticket, I was seated in the first row, the first seat of the house left side, utterly amazing.

The next day I went to The Silver Tassie; I will admit upfront that i have a vey hard time with understanding accents. I also have a hard time with English humor, which a lot of this entailed. Over all it was an emotional roller coaster of sorts. I was laughing one minute and feeling despair for sone of the character. I feel that my review of the Silver Tassie is going to be somewhat skewed because I was blown away by War Horse.
