I just had a holy amazing interview with a chair of a department who wants wonderful big and happy things to happen to the space. His excitement about the space and other spaces that should be included is awesome. One thing that I am realizing the more I do these interviews, the more I tell people about the facility, the more I see that the "hall" needs to be loved. It doesn't need to be loved in the sense of I love you I'm going to buy you a diamond love sense.
The hall needs a sense of ownership, it needs a department to control it. A department that is dedicated to providing the infrastructure to support the facility, to support the programming, and to ultimately support the students & community. Listening to the chair tell me these things directly just set off a light bulb - and it felt AWESOME.
