I found this wandering around my note book and since my class is all about free writing... here we go.
Examination of social media and other technological modes of communications. The goal of the study would be examining:
-What are the current trends in technology in the industry?
- What are the historical trends of the industry?
- What is the future of technology in our industry?
- How does technology effect the industry? (positive or negative)
- What are the types of technology that are utilized by industry leaders?
- How can technology work during emergencies?
Final project would be a website that would be a portal of sorts that can be used by organizations and individuals within the industry. Establish accounts for all users, incorporating FM/CMMS/BIM/IWMS/etc.
*Independent study will examine and analyze how the industry communicates. It will take into account the past, present, and possible future trends. History of facility management in the context of communication.
Cast study could be HSS - where they are, where they are going, why they are going there?
Major types of "social media" what do they do?
- Facebook
- Twitter
- LinkedIn
- Google Hangouts
TBD
---
Inclusion in the workplace is one of the largest hurdles that the facility management industry faces. For the first time in history we have four (4) generations that are working together. We are also working in one of the most technological eras in history. While we many, as a society, be faciling these issues, the facility management has not faced these realities. If you were to attend any given IFMA event the majority of the attendees are going to be "white haired, gray bearded" white men. Women in the workforce and industry has improved as of late, putting women in higher positions while at the same time they are also "gray haired".
