Writing Class #1

This is the first time in all four of my thesis' that I have had to take a proper writing class with it. I now believe this to be a phenomenal idea. Purely because our professor has nothing to do with our program so we have to use our "speak" differently...

Outline from our first class - This was all timed free writing, this feels all disjointed, so bare with it.

  • Describe your ideal job upon graduating?
    • Upon graduation I have no idea what my ideal job would be. Practically speaking it should be a really good paying and stable position to pay off all the student loans I've accrued. The one thing that I find most frustrating about my job is the lack of clarity and especially organization.
  • Describe what you'd like to be doing in five years, in ten years?

Ultimately I would like to have a house, with a white picket fence, dogs, and no screaming kids. Having a yard is important to me. I would hope that by year 10, I will still be working in a non-profit for the tuition and school loan forgiveness.

As you can imagine this type of field has very closed and it's rarely spoken about outside of the industry. This is an important factor when facility management is supposed to be a growing field. Because of the closed nature of the industry there are large gaps between current practitioners and future practitioners. This large divide is cur
  • Describe the problem you wish to investigate in your thesis to a peer in the FM program?
    • speak to the person sitting next to you.

What I realized in this class, is that I do feel confident in the subject matter that I have chosen, now I just need to figure out how to get pen to paper. :-D weeeeee
