I wish to develop a body of work that will have an end result of ...
NY CITY CENTER RENOVATION
Aim HIGH Hillary... AIM HIGH. A girl can dream, right?
NYCC capital campaign was for $75mil. I have no real idea what type of capital campaign that the Institute is looking at, I only know that it has been listed as an item of capital campaign. I can't really compare the two facilities.
The "auditorium" that I work in, it's history is vastly unknown; it's some what of a loner on campus. It's challenging to work in a space that very few know anything or want to really know about. This becomes more difficult to raise funding for a facility that is in desperate need of repair when there's not detailed and documented history of the facility [at least readily available].
The hall is mainly used for it's occupancy size, not because it has a lot to offer the campus or community. Why should they care? How can they care?
The Pratt family built "Memorial Hall" to honor and memorialize Charles Pratt's two wives, hence Memorial Hall. Other then one plaque that is located in the house of the auditorium. The family's legacy has slowly phased out in the nearly 125 years that it's existed, and the institute has flourished and bloomed into the larger vision that Charles Pratt may have had. With that vision, the vision of Memorial Hall has also been phased out over the years.
*Side note* Every 'theatre' supposedly has a ghost, I swear that Charles Pratt himself paces the lobby.
Why is the history of a facility important to its' success, or how can it be important to its' success?
